About me
My biography
Hello!
I'm Nola and I'm a French Bulldog (you can find more about my breed if you click here). I'm 6 months old. I came to my family on august 6th 2006. Hmmm, you know what? Actually, my full name is Enola Gay ! I think it has something to do with the bomber of the same name, and the anniversary of bombing Hiroshima! And my explosive nature wasn't so hard to associate with this event.. Just kidding! ;)
I live in Zagreb (Croatia), in a neighbourhood full of trees, green grass.
I'm very friendly and I have a lot of friends. I know three French Bulldogs here, Maza, Croket and Whoopie. My vet (very nice man) says there are seven more French Bulldogs in my neighbourhood!
Whoops, I have to eat now! So I'll continue to write as soon as I can!

About French Bulldog
Description
French Bulldogs are muscular, compact dogs with a smooth coat, snub nose and solid bone. Their physical appearance is characterised by naturally occurring "bat ears" that are wide at the base and round at the top. Their tails are naturally short and not cropped.
These dogs come in a variety of colours and coat patterns. The AKC standards for colours are the following:
"Acceptable colours - brindle, fawn, white, brindle and white, and any colour except for those that constitute disqualification and these are: solid black, mouse, liver, black and tan, black and white, and white with black, which are disqualifications. Black means black without a trace of brindle."
The FCI standard did not allow fawn until the mid nineties. Colour disqualifications under the current FCI standard are "mouse grey, brown, black and tan".
Orgin
Originally, this breed was developed in England as a miniature version of the English Bulldog. French dog breeders imported some of these very small Bulldogs from Great Britain in the 1860's and bred them with French Terriers. Streetwalkers in France vastly admired the imports and this led to the name French Bulldog. When the breed was eventually brought back to England for exhibition, the English made quite furious about the name French Bulldog, since the Bulldog was originally an English Breed and because the Bulldog represented one of the traditional symbols of English culture.
Temperament
The French Bulldog is a pleasant, easy to care companion. An affectionate and very playful dog. Sweet and absolutely hilarious; they have a very humorous personality and love to clown around. It is a bright and easygoing dog. Curious and alert. The Frenchie gets along fairly well with strangers and other animals, but he is often bonded strongly to one person. They play well with other dogs; some males may be aggressive towards other dogs, while others get along just fine. This breed needs companionship and will not live without it. You can't own and then ignore a Frenchie. Although they are fairly willful, they can be trained if the owner is patient. They respond to patient, consistent training that DOES NOT include hitting or rude force. They are clean, and companionable, enthusiastic and sometimes do not know when to quite, but they are not loud. This breed goes best with older considerate children. Frenchies are easy going to show. This breed may drool and slobber; however some of them do not, and these make a fine percentage. This dog is also a ruthless hunter of mice!
Health problems
French Bulldogs may have eye and respiratory problems. If too overweight, the French Bulldog tends to have trouble breathing, because of a swollen abdomen. They may snore, wheeze and be gassy. It is said that this breed cannot swim because of his physique, so be very careful around swimming pools, however some French Bulldog owners have reported that their dogs can indeed swim. Sometimes females must deliver by Cesarean section because of the puppies' large heads. Potential purchasers should be aware that these dogs need high maintenance and you can expect bigger vet bills.
Height, weight
Height: 12 inches (30cm.)
There are two weight classes of French Bulldog: 19-22 (9-10kg.) pounds and 22-28 pounds (10-13kg.). Over 28 pounds is a disqualification.
